Before choosing a compressor that plugs into the power outlet, make sure the outlet is rated for 15A/180W. A typical portable compressor must be turned off between tire fills, and anytime you want to check tire pressure. Portable compressors with automatic shutoff are great when moving from tire to tire, and when checking tire pressure in the middle of a tire fill.
