Heart-rate monitors (Samsung and Sony) health apps, news aggregators that swipe from the left (Samsung and HTC), Google Now style services and intelligent home-screens and product placement (HTC, Sony). Whilst some OEMs stick close to stock Android (Motorola for example), others veer off on their own tangent. And, as each manufacturer attempts to stand out from the crowd, they’re adding and tweaking more than ever. Whilst Sony, LG, Huawei and Samsung all run Android, they run their own, tweaked version of Android. I happen to think this is a bigger problem for Google because of the sheer number of Android derivatives.
